These youths assure Guyana of its future

Dear Editor,
Guyanese, both young and old turned out in their numbers Saturday evening, April 09,/2016 to witness a spectacular, multicultural presentation that had really entertaining and talented individuals on show. It was quite uplifting to witness so many aspects of our Guyanese culture and heritage on stage.
One could tell by the audiences’ reaction that they would agree. It was a learning experience for us all and quite necessary as many individuals, especially the younger ones now have a sense of pride and awareness as to how important it is that we as “ One People, One Nation, One Destiny” are fortunate to celebrate our 50th Independence anniversary.
Honorable mention must be given to the organizers of this event; The Ministry of Education- Department of Culture, Youth and Sport Youth Department in collaboration with the Volunteerism Support Platform whose tireless efforts paid off. The dedication and hard work of the individuals involved in this initiative must be applauded.
Thank you for a wonderful evening. The future of Guyana indeed looks bright, promising and prosperous as youths like these pave the way for others to follow.
