Dear Editor,
I wish to refer to a news item on Friday 10 April, 2016 edition of Prime News in which reference was made suggesting that preference for the award of the Operations of the Haags Bosch contract would be given to Ivor Alleyne / Cevons Waste Management and Ground Structure Engineering.
Sir, as far as I am aware there are certain procedures to be followed before the announcement of the awards of contract are made by the National Procurement & Tender Administration Board and this ought not be done before the evaluation process is completed.
Besides being unethical to pre-empt the outcome of the bidding process suggests that one is either trying to influence and compromises the evaluation process or is privy to information that should not be available. In the public domain as yet and as such the said bidders should be disqualified since the evaluation process is still ongoing.
I therefore call upon the relevant authorities to consider carefully the statement emanating from this newscast and its alarming implications. Concerned citizen
