Dear Editor,
I write you this letter in the hope that highlighting this issue will result in the Guyana Police force putting measures in place to rectify this lawlessness.
The La Grange Old Road which leads to the western entrance of the Demerara Harbour Bridge usually allows one way traffic in the mornings towards the bridge. This one way traffic now accommodates five lanes of traffic since the shoulders of the road were graded. It is unfair for law abiding citizens to join the line and wait their turn to get on the bridge when other persons drive on the sides of the road shoulders causing damage to the parapets and then jostle to the front of the line and past you.
I have noticed this trend for a number of weeks now and no measures are being put in place to curtail this lawlessness. I suggest a police on a motor bike to patrol this area to maintain a fair queue system. I am kindly asking you to publish this letter to bring some relief concerning this issue. If you have an email or telephone number of the relevant authority I can raise this issue with please email it to me. Please email me if you need any further information. Andrew Chase
