A fine all-round performance by Buddan Baksh guided Herstelling B to a six-wicket victory over Silverbullet when the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association 50-over tournament continued recently.
Baksh grabbed 5-41 to help bowl out Silverbullet for 99 in 24.3 overs, batting first at Farm. Melroy Homes made 38 and Abdel Bacchus 17; Totoram Bishun supported Baksh with 3-7. Baksh then struck 52 as Herstelling B responded with 101-4 in 12.4 overs. Bishun made 17; Collin Benjamin took 3-21.
At Laluni, Combined United edged the host by one run. Batting first, the visitors scored 124 all out. Jermain Ramroop got 30, Shawn Pooran 21 and Saddiq Mohamed 20; R. Shuman snared 4-22, Alex Dundas 3-11 and A. Williams 3-33. Laluni replied with 123 all out in 24 overs. T. Persaud made 25, Dundas 18 and A. Mohabir 17. Asif Shafeek captured 4-30, Ramroop 3-20 and Ravindra Sarbjeet 3-25.
The competition continues today with Laluni hosting Farm and tomorrow Silverbullet will play Eccles at Farm and Providence will take on Herstelling A at Laluni. Matches start at 09:03 hrs.
