Three young men were remanded to prison on Friday when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer a charge of robbery.
Kurt Nelson, 21, of 195 La Penitence; Ken Belle 22, of Wismar, Linden; and Ronaldo Johnson, 21, also of Linden; stood before the court to answer to the charge which stated that on Wednesday February 16, at Bayroc Ball field, the three accused robbed Oswald Mc Allister, of Melanie Damishana, of a cell phone, one measuring tape, one spirit level and $10,000 in cash while armed with a cutlass.
It was also alleged that on February 10, Ken Belle, had in his possession one Blackberry and one Coral phone, both thought to be unlawfully obtained.
There was objection to bail due to the gravity of the offence and the Magistrate remanded the three defendants to prison.
The matter was transferred to the Linden Magistrate’s Court for March 9. The Commander of E Division would like to thank all those who assisted in capturing the defendants.
