Headmaster fined for fondling 7-year-old boy

his students, when he appeared yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
He was found guilty by City Magistrate Faith McGusty of assaulting the seven-year-old student at the conclusion of a trial yesterday.
The incident occurred on January 12, 2015 at the school situated on New Market Street, Georgetown.
According to facts presented to the court, the victim and another student were fighting in the classroom. This caused the Headteacher to intervene. The court was told that as a means of punishment, Chandra who resides at Lot 23 Abary Street, Bel Air Park held on to the child’s penis and grabbed it in front of the classroom.
Chandra was also ordered to undergo six months of counselling. Failure to pay the fine or to attend counselling will see him being jailed for two months.
A few years ago, the prominent Headmaster was placed before the court for allegedly threatening to kill his wife. It was reported that he tossed a plate of rice on his wife’s head after they had an argument and he threatened to end her life.
