Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan ordered a rancher to post bail in the sum of $25,000 after he was brought before her for allegedly stealing a horse.
Martin Scipio, a father of one, of Central Rupununi, Region Nine, pleaded not guilty to the charge of simple larceny. Particulars of the allegation stated that between November 1 and November 30, 2015, Hillman stole the animal belonging to Bernard Simon. The horse is valued at $120,000.
Scipio, who was represented by Attorney Jed Vasconcellos, pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yesterday.
Police Prosecutor, Deniro Jones had no objections to the defendant being granted pre-trial liberty. He informed the court that the horse was recovered.
This matter was transferred to the Lethem Magistrate’s Court for February 29.
