Walton Hall, Imam Bacchus book final berths
Walton Hall and Imam Bacchus SC have secured their places in the final of the North Essequibo Cricket Committee/WD’s Hotel and Mall T20 tournament after recording victories in their respective semi final matches played recently at Imam Bacchus ground.
Walton Hall defeated Ravens by five runs. Batting first, Walton Hall scored 128-6 off their reduced quota of 15 overs. Vishwanauth Lall struck 32 while Suresh Persaud got 26. Safraz Ali had 3-19 and Elroy Stephney 2-19. Ravens were restricted for 123-7 in reply. Keron Sewnarine slammed 55 and Laxmikant Narine 22. Devendra Balgobin and Navin Bahadur took two wickets each.
Imam Bacchus SC overcame Charity by nine wickets. Charity were skittled for 68 in 14 overs, taking first strike. Barry Alphonso made 25 as Rovendra Parsram grabbed 4-17 and Punraj Singh 3-19. Imam Bacchus responded with 69-1 in 10 overs. Nathan Persaud led with 38 while Latchman Rohit 20 got not out.
The final and the third place game will be played on a date and venue to be decided.
