Businesses pledge support for D’Urban Park project
The Private Sector Commission met on Thursday with coordinators of the D’Urban Park Project, Larry London and Basil Blackman.
According to the Commission, it was apprised of plans for the 50th Anniversary Jubilee
Works ongoing on the project.
Stadium and other features of the park, this is to be located east of the 1763 Monument.
“The coordinators explained that the entire project would be executed in stages with some features being in place for the Republic Anniversary in February 2016 and bleachers being erected in time for the Fiftieth Anniversary celebrations in May of 2016,” PSC said.
By early 2017 the Jubilee Stadium would be fully completed and ready for use.
“The members of the Private Sector Commission pledged their support for this national project which will provide several opportunities for showcasing private enterprise.”
