The Nirvana Humanitarian Foundation (NHF) has once more excelled in honouring their mandate as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in serving the West Coast Demerara Community.

Last Friday, the NGO hosted a cultural programme and party for 200 senior citizens from various villages in the area. They were all presented with grocery hampers and $1,000 cash.
The event was spearheaded by Social Work advocate, Pandit Parmashwar Haimraj. The event received tremendous support from the local business community.
Philomena Sahoye Shury, CCH, addressed the event. She challenged the organization to undertake more projects of this nature. Over the years the foundation has been hosting a senior citizens programme on alternate Saturdays.
The NHF held a Christmas party on December 30, last, which catered for 150 children. Each child was given a toy along with a bag filled with goodies.
The foundation has a very active drama group and has produced a number of plays and shows.
