Dear Editor,
On September 7th 2015, in a lead story in Kaieteur News, prominent mining advocate and Bartica resident, Sherwyn Delano Downer, was featured in the article where he called for the reopening of the Bartica Gold Board. On November 30th 2015, the government heeded to the mining advocate’s call and the Bartica Gold Board was reopened. But sadly and most unfortunately, the mining advocated was not invited. He was not seen at the opening much to the surprise and dismay of residents of Bartica who believed the mining advocate should be credited for the reopening. With his mining advocacy and many other issues locally on which he writes on for his community, with Bartica in mind, Could Ministers Brooms and Trotman say why the mining advocate was not invited to the reopening of the Bartica Gold Board?
