Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB), Head Office and Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC) recorded victories when the Ministry of Agriculture Inter-Agency softball competition commenced yesterday at the National Park.
GRDB overcame GMC by seven wickets. Batting first, GMC scored 138-2 in 10 overs. Anil Ramsarran stroked 58 and Devin Warner 42. GRDB replied with 139-3 in 10 overs. Rishal Ramsarran smashed 60 while Pooran Seeraj hit 49.
Head Office defeated National Agriculture Research and Extension Institution (NAREI) by nine wickets. NAREI took first strike and managed 108-1 in 10 overs. Kumar Bissoondyal led with 68 and Kawall Mangal 22. Head Office responded with 109-1 in 9.1 overs. Seon Richardson cracked 47 and Rishad Ali 42.
GMC beat National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) by 33 runs. GMC posted 105 with out lost off their reduced six overs. Warner slammed 48 and Matthew Bellamy 42. NDIA reached 72-2 in six overs in reply. Arnim Griffith made 39.
The competition continues on Saturday.
