The Bicycle Patrol Unit which was at a standstill for over three years has been

resuscitated by the City Constabulary Department of the Mayor and City Council.
The bicycle patrol was birthed out of a relationship developed during a visit to the Miami Conference of Mayors 2008, by local City Council officials.
The focus of the unit is said to be to identify violations of the City By-Laws which can see ranks warning and initiating arrests. The first batch of Bicycle Patrol officers were trained by, Gary McLaughlin.
The Bicycle Patrol Unit was said to have been resuscitated in an effort to enhance the performance of the City Constabulary Department while also lending support to the City Engineer, Public Health and Solid Waste Management Departments.
Chief Constable Andrew Foo stated that an additional 20 persons are intended to be posted in the area.
