Dear Editor,
Following the change in Government, many public figures were either fired or forced to resign whilst some took it on their own to resign by themselves. Lots of people agreed with this move and a few are claiming “witch hunt”.
Many of the so called victims were either incompetent for the position they held or managed with serious attitude problems that caused lots of problems.
One would believe that with all this happening, those in similar positions would change their attitudes, but sadly, that is not so and when action is taken against them, the public would hear about the so-called victimization/witch hunt.
Editor, over a month now, some residents of Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara have been experiencing an extremely high voltage (260v tested one time) in their house, especially at nights and after numerous damages to electrical appliances, the various technicians are of the opinion that it is being caused by a particular transformer, thus they reported it to the Guyana Power and Light West Coast/Bank branch.
Repeated reports cause one resident to end up requesting to reach the Branch Manager and to his amazement, he was spoken to in what he believes was an angry manner and directed to report his problem to Georgetown.
To date, he hasn’t received any direct location to where he must lodge his complaints and he’s a bit annoyed at the attitudes he met with and decided not to pursue the matter any further. Now I wonder what’s the purpose of a branch and a manager if we have to make our report somewhere else?
The employees at Cool Tech could verify what is happening to the residents there because only recently they repaired one resident’s washing machine and upon investigation the cause was high voltage.
When will the attitudes towards consumers/customers change or it will take changes in staff to make a difference?
