GSCL Inc Emancipation Cup set for Sunday
With the aim of promoting the game, the Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL Inc) will be hosting their Emancipation Cup on Sunday. The competition will be played in the open and over-40 categories and action will get underway at 09:00 hrs at the Everest CC and GNIC SC.
Regal will battle Wolf Warriors in the lone open game which will be of 15-over duration, while Success Warriors, Regal Masters, Savage and Frontline will vie for supremacy in the over-40 division which will last for 20-overs. The finals will be played on the same day and the winners will receive trophies.
Among the players expected to be on show in the open segment are Richard Latiff, Chien Gittens, Privnauth Motilall, Safraz Esau and Ricky Sargeant of Regal, Amir Nizamudeen, Amrit Rai, Mark Harold, Vishnu Tammechandra and Azaad Azeez of Wolf’s Warriors.
Meanwhile, a release from the GSCL Inc stated that the organisation will continue in its efforts to develop the game not only in Demerara, but throughout the country.
