Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter published in the press written by Vidyaratha Kissoon in which he argues that certain members of the PPP should not be in Parliament because of statements they made about women.
I am aware that there is Member of Parliament on the Government bench, who was accused of buggery of a child.
There is also another member on the Government side in the National Assembly, who was heard in a telephone conversation with another person who, at the time, was Vice Chairman of the PNC and a sitting Parliamentarian for that party, expressing the intention of planting drugs on an outgoing passenger at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport and confessing that he deliberately diverted police ranks away from a crime scene “to help all you out” (the PNC).
All three persons mentioned above are Ministers of the current Government.
I did not read any letter from Kissoon or anyone else criticizing these persons for holding seats in Parliament or being Ministers of the Government. Clearly the infractions of which these persons are accused are much more serious than making derogatory remarks about women.
So Mr. Vidyaratha Kissoon do you condone actions of these persons? Are you so duplicitous?
I will say to Vidyaratha Kissoon what the Honourable Prime Minister admitted in the previous Parliament as saying to his grandson “haul you so so”. Faruk Mohamed
