Having failed to win a title so far this year, the National Rugby squad departed Guyana this morning to participate in the Pan-Am Games in Toronto, Canada.
Members of the national rugby team that departed Guyana yesterday to participate in the Pan Am Games pose for a photo op.
According to a release from the Guyana Rugby Football Union, the team will be engaged in a mini warm-up tournament scheduled for Saturday July 4 at Appleby’s College.
The games scheduled are:
11:00 Hours Guyana vs Uruguay
11:30 Hours Ontario vs C-International (Pro American Team)
12:00 Hours Guyana vs Ontario
12:30 hours Uruguay vs C-International
13:00 Hours – 15:00 Hours (BREAK)
15:00 Hours Guyana vs C-International
15:30 hours Uruguay vs Ontario
The Guyana squad arrives on Wednesday July 1 at 7:10pm and will be accommodated at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and Suites
The players that traveled are: Richard Staglon, Peabo Hamilton, Lancelot Adonis, Rickford Cummings, Claudius Butts, Ronald Mayers, Patrick King, Akeem Fraser, Ryan Gonsalves, Dwayne Schroeder, Phibian Joseph and Avery Corbin.
The accompanying officials are: Terrence Grant, Theodore Henry and Philip Browne.
