…Police cite noise nuisance
While some might find it interesting to be living next door to a popular night club, others find it quite disturbing because of the mere fact that the noise can go until the wee hours of the morning.
After prolonged pleading with authorities for an end to the constant noise nuisance in Cummings Street, against a popular night club in the area, action was finally taken. For now, the night club was reported closed down pending an investigation.
Some time ago residents, petitioned against the issue and alerted the media as well as police officers. Various residents mentioned that apart from the loud noise that emanates from the club even after closing time, patrons remain outside engaging in their version of an extended party.
“Sometime after the club closes the people does be outside partying for hours; they even fight and exchange gunfire but luckily no one was ever injured… These people have no respect for the police…
“We even made a petition and took it to Mr Hicken along with other police reports but nothing was done… We even asked the club owner to just install the sound proof things, but up to now they can’t do it.”
Amongst the residents in the area, is a centenarian who finds it very hard to cope with the ruckus in the wee hours of the morning.
At 104, the denizen was forced to sleep during the day because of what neighbour’s call “the extended version of the party” kept on the roadways even after the club is closed.
