Dear Editor,
The airwaves will be sanitized. Despite their enormous access to funding, abuse of state resources, truth prevailed at the ballot box.
The GUYANESE voters (all six races) kept calm. They struck a blow to the temple of division and race hatred. The PPP/C was shell shocked. How could they lose?
They had everything in place, unlimited media, money and a juggernaut of equipment.
What they did not have and failed miserably at was capturing the minds of the 54% of GUYANESE, true patriots, who snatched the nation from the precipice of ignominy.
The arrogance, avarice, lies, the abuses, violations of human rights, vendettas, vigilante extra judicial murders, stifling of entrepreneurial ingenuity, the belief in and practice of race domination was punctured and shredded at the polls.
The 23 year old stench of this regime is slowly wafting away with the free and fair election of Brigadier David Granger. The dark clouds of a failed and rejected ideology of race dominace “apaan jhaat” has been lifted.
The responsible citizens of Guyana woke up and destroyed the dragon that held an empty Cup up to them. They found it unworthy. They drank from it for 23 years.
The contents got acidic and bitter, year by year. It became excruciating and debilitating. They suffered an oesophageal spasm and could no longer swallow the failed mantra of development when the caustic acid inhibited them from benefitting from the nutrients of wealth diverted from coffers of the treasury and into the pockets of family, friends and cronies of the PPP/C regime.
They chose the Key of unity.
Let this be a lesson and a legacy to this nation, do not fall asleep in apathy. Do not allow division and hate to raise its ugly head in this land ever again!
