A Linden man was brought before the court yesterday after the police alleged he discharged a loaded firearm.
Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry read the charge to 36-year-old Sheldon Joseph, of 71 Sunflower Street, Wismar, Linden.
It is alleged that between November 1 and November 13, 2014, Joseph discharged a loaded firearm with the intent to maim, disable or disfigure Quincy David.
Joseph was granted bail in the sum of $100,000, he was also ordered to report to the Wismar Police Station, every Friday at 17:00hrs.
The accused, who was represented by attorney Denise Hodge, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The lawyer told the court that her client was never found with the firearm in his possession.
Police Corporal Bharrat Mangru prosecuted.
Joseph will make his next appearance on April 28, at the Linden Magistrate’s Courts.
