Dear Editor,
Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo has no moral authority to speak about thuggery in Guyana. It is thuggery when he locked Ms. Varshnie Singh out of the presidential suite, denying her food, clothes, money, vehicle, and drove fear into persons not to support her Kid is First Foundation that caused families and their sick children of Guyana to suffer more. It is under his era this country has seen the most bloodshed, criminal activities, fear and state narco-militarisation. It was under his ruler-ship that hundreds of Guyanese were left dead by a drug lord who was protected and supported by his regime. He is the one with the blood on his hands. President Ramotar confirmed Mr. Jagdeo’s thuggery when he said he would have slapped the Amerindian teacher from Aishalton for daring to dissent. This is how he is prepared to deal with Guyanese, when he cannot drive fear into them with his propaganda and hate mongering he will physically assault them into subjection.
It is not by accident that President Donald Ramotar brought Mr. Jadgeo back to campaign for the 2015 elections. It was under Jagdeo’s leadership that Guyana became the most corrupt and lawless country in the Caribbean. No wonder there is such a rise in crime and all these acts are signs of his thug culture. And the thug that he is he wanted to bring an American criminal thug, Bernard Kerik, to head the police force. Mr. Jagdeo can present no argument to give the impression that he is any different from what he condemned.
And furthermore, after 23 years of a PPP government he should be ashamed to boast about bringing our Amerindian brothers and sisters from the hinterland to live in a hostel under poor conditions. Since the 1960s under the PNC government Amerindians were coming to Georgetown on hinterland scholarships. Almost half of a century after the government should be talking about hinterland development where Amerindians would have been able to access comparative level of education as it is in Georgetown and be able to stay with their families and in their communities and serve.
The government is doing nothing for educational development in our far flung areas other than building empty buildings. Imagine the disgrace, while boasting about Amerindians going abroad to become doctors and engineers, Mr. Jagdeo has not given an Amerindian doctor a vote of confidence to treat the belly wuk that he had. Instead he jumped on a plane to have it treated in the USA. What a shame!
Mr. Jadgeo is nothing more than a big mouth bully and when it comes to thuggery he has earned the right to another PhD. I have no problem with him calling me a thug because it takes a thug to deal with him and I don’t have a problem dealing with him. The present PPP is a clan of thugs. Whether it be Mr. Jagdeo’s thuggery to Mr. Anil Nandlall’s thuggery in threatening statements to Kaieteur News. He is bringing his poisonous tongue into Linden to divide the people. The unity the PPP saw in Linden/Region 10 in 2012 drove fear into the him he is afraid of it, so he thinks he can set out to destroy. I have news for him- not in Linden/ Region 10! Cowards die many times before their death and Guyanese must stop being afraid of this loud mouth ordinary man, who unfortunately had power bestowed on him that he never expected in his wildest dreams to achieve, and doesn’t know how to use it.
