The man responsible for the death of four-year-old Jayden Charles made an appearance yesterday
Dead: Jayden Charles
at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Paul John, 31, of North Sophia was remanded to prison until April 13, on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
Charles, a student of the Starter’s Nursery School, was struck down on Saturday, while he was making his way to his Water Street, Georgetown home.
According to reports, John, who was the driver of minibus BPP 1702, had just pulled off after dropping off two passengers at Giftland Office Max, on Water Street, when he ran over the child.
After Charles was hit, the driver started to drive over the injured child’s body. It was only when a social worker raised an alarm; the driver picked up the child’s body and took him to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
The young lad died while receiving treatment.
