Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) and Everest Cricket Club recorded victories when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Brainstreet Under-15 tournament continued yesterday with two matches.
Batting first at GYO, the host managed 173-9 in 50 overs. Navendra Persaud stroked 41 (5×4) while Chandra Mohan made 33. Sachin Ramroop bagged 6-30 and Ghansam Premchand 2-17.
Everest was skittled for 54 in 25.3 overs in reply. Premchand made 16; Anil Singh and Movendra Dindyal snared two wickets each.
At the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) ground, Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) went down to Diplomats by nine wickets. GCC were bowled out for 37 in 17.4 overs, taking first knock. Thameshwar Permaul made 10; off spinner Jonathan St. Hill bagged 3-8. Diplomats then raced to 38-1 in three overs to complete a comprehensive victory.
