Two men who pleaded guilty to stealing five bags of rice were yesterday sentenced to two months imprisonment by Magistrate Annette Singh.
Michael Gaynor, 43, and Mark Anode, 25, stole five bags of rice valued at $7,800 – property of Ramray, also known as Jerry, between February 22 and 23.
The prosecution’s facts stated that on the day in question, Corporal Bristol, who was on duty, saw the two defendants and approached them in the presence of the persons who bought the rice. The facts further related that the defendants admitted to the police that they stole the items; hence they were cautioned and arrested.
