The Guyana Darts Association (GDA) Mashramani Darts Classic Open got underway Friday night at the Malteenoes Sports Club, Thomas Lands. GDA Vice-President Rayman Williams first welcomed the players and declared the competition open.

The N2N Team led by Sherwyn Greene took top honors in the 4-Member 1001 Team event sponsored by Hand-in –Hand Insurance. They defeated the Hard Target team captained by Sudesh Fitzgerald in the best of five set, 3 games to 1.
In the playoff for 3rd place, the Triple 20 team led by Mary Correia got the better of Bank of Guyana team spearheaded by Melissa Smartt in the best of three set, 2 games to nil.

Mixed Triples 701 sponsored by GUYOIL Co – the trio of Rosetta Hiralall, Lalchand Rambharose & Sherwyn Greene won from Sudesh Fitzgerald, Seepersaud & Sanjay Bhupan 3 games to 1. While in the playoff for 3rd place, Mary Correia, Luis Ramirez-Merlano and Jamal Holligan prevailed over Anthony Bissoondyal, Vishnu Bhupan and Jean DeSouza, 2 nil.
Mixed Doubles 501 sponsored by Mr. Bholonauth Ramdial – this was taken by Anthony Bissoondyal and Jean DeSouza over Mary Correia and Luis Ramirez-Merlano, 3 games to 2.
In the race for the prize for the most hundreds, 129 hundreds were scored overall with Sudesh Fitzgerald leading with 29. While for the most 180s prize, Anil Lachhman is in the lead on two. One each was thrown by Lalchand Rambharoseand Sudesh Fitzgerald. Action continues tonight.
