Two teens were Thursday afternoon nabbed by security officers of the National Park after they robbed two school boys outside the park on Thomas Lands, Georgetown.
A third accomplice managed to escape, the Protected Areas Commission said.
The perpetrators were caught as they were attempting to run through the National Park, and were subsequently handed over to the Alberttown Police Station. Among the items stolen were a cell phone and a quantity of cash.
According to the Commission, the strengthening of security within the National Park area is part of the Three Parks Initiative which aims to ensure the safety of families and those who visit there for recreation and exercise. Lights have also been installed as part of the measures to ensure security in the evening hours.
