This year is continuing as though it is an extension of the year just past. The madness continues as murders now surpass road deaths. The problem is that people refuse to reason, so there will be these killings.
Unfortunately the judicial system has come to recognize that the death penalty is not being imposed. At the same time, people know this, so they downgrade the value of a human life, because they know that theirs is not at stake.

The courts are going to be asked to make an interesting decision, largely because of the political stalemate that currently exists. There is going to be a challenge to the system of government. This challenge is going to see a further split amidst the ranks of voters.

The public health system is going to be severely examined. This year is not going to be smooth sailing for many, so the number of suicides would rise.
In a country like Guyana this should not happen, because of the closeness of families. However, many families are drifting apart because of financial considerations, and it is here that the state enterprise would have to do so much more.
