Another group calls for Nandlall’s resignation
The Alliance For Change Regional Management Committee of Region Five is calling on Anil Nandlall to resign from his post as Attorney General, Minister of Legal Affairs and Member of Parliament immediately.
The call is based on this recent abuse of the offices he holds.
According to Mr. Abel Seetaram, Chairman of the Regional Management Committee, the Minister has shown the Guyanese people and the world at large that he and his government will go after anyone who brings out the corruption in the government.
Mr. Seetaram said that this is a clear example of the Attorney General telling the reporter to get out of the place he is being employed because things will happen there.
The Minister is abusing his office; he is using it to get at people with taxpayers dollars.
According to the release the Minister who is now suing Kaieteur News is guilty of the act of threatening and is now trying to shut up the newspaper and its owner along with the reporters by filing legal action.
Seetaram is also calling on President Ramotar to show his power for justice and to immediately request Mr. Nandlall to resign as Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs.
The release is also calling on the PPP\C to condemn Nandlall’s action and to relieve Mr. Nandlall of his seat in parliament.
