Two students charged with robbery under arms
Dennis Thomas, called ‘Cort’, 18, a student of lot 141 Portuguese Quarters, Corentyne and Joshua a 14-year-old student of Hampshire squatting area Corentyne Berbice were on Monday charged with robbery under arms.
They reportedly robbed Racquel Gordon, 30, of Queenstown, Berbice, and Stephon Norah, 12, of Line Path Corentyne, Berbice.
The teens are accused of relieving their victims of one Blu cell phone and one HTC cell phone. It is alleged that the incident occurred on October 11, whilst the victims were traversing the Albion Estate road.
The matter was reported and following intense investigations, the two thieves were eventually arrested and charged.
They appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court and placed on $80,000 bail each.
The matter has been transferred to the Albion Magistrate’s Court for continuation on November 4.
