Elderly Wismar woman’s body found
– was missing for seven days

The seven-day search for elderly Wismar resident Desiree Monica Fraser came to a sad end on Friday, after her body was found at North-East Kara Kara, over ten miles from her home.
Fraser’s daughter, Sharon Rogers, said that some passing BOSAI employees found the body in a gully, after becoming aware of an unpleasant smell and observing carrion crows in the area. She said that the workers then contacted relatives.
According to the daughter, relatives had repeatedly searched the same bushy area while calling out for her mother. She suggested that 68-year-old Mrs. Fraser may have been too weak to answer.
Mrs. Rogers had repeatedly expressed hope of finding her mother alive, despite the lengthy time that she had been missing and exposed to the elements.
Kaieteur News was told that police have ordered a postmortem.
Desiree Monica Fraser, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, disappeared from her Lot 66 ‘A’ Victory Valley, Wismar home two Fridays ago.
The woman’s daughters said they searched “all the mining areas” in Linden, and reached as far as Rockstone and Ituni without finding their mother. Some residents told relatives of seeing Mrs. Fraser and had even fed her.
She is to be laid to rest today.
