Runaway schoolgirl frustrates parents
A 15-year-old schoolgirl, suspected to have run away from home, was reported “missing” at the Providence Police Station
Alicia Johnson, missing from parents’ home
by her parents more than one week ago.
According to the parents of Alicia Johnson, a student of Dolphin Secondary School, she was last seen in the school compound by students and teachers, after classes had dismissed on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 30.
Johnson’s mother, Natasha Aaron, said that she received a phone call from her daughter around 19:30 hours on Thursday, allegedly informing her that she was “ok”, “good wherever she is” and “would not be returning home.”
The mother told Kaieteur News that she pleaded with her daughter to return home, but her efforts were in vain. She said that Johnson called from a “Private Number” that night and has not called since then.
Her step-father, Garfield Aaron, said that Johnson suffers no form of domestic abuse, and found it unreasonable that she did not want to return home.
Her mother said, “We don’t short Alicia of anything and we try our best to provide what she needs. I don’t know why she would run away like this. She is still young and needs to be in our custody.”
