While the police still have not apprehended the suspect Devonshire Castle rapist, a report relating to the latest rape of the 30-year-old Devonshire Castle woman is to be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice.
Residents have however said that a man who usually lurks about the Village during the day and robs at night could be seen at a dam in the Village.
But a senior police officer is contending that from investigations, allegations of rape by the 30-year-old mother of four do not coincide with police findings, especially since the woman never indicated in her statements to them that she was raped. Even a medical examination report failed to suggest that the alleged victim was raped, the senior police strongly retorted.
“Persons need to do their own investigations to get the truth of the matter, instead of refuting what I have initially said,” the officer lamented.
Residents are however contending that the incidence of robbery and rape remains a common feature and are calling on the police to be more vigilant in their operations, especially in Devonshire Castle, a Village that over the years has gradually become lawless.
