Dear Editor,
In the September 19th issue of KN, the article headlined – AFC gives “real reason” Govt. scrapped Surendra contract is an excellent piece. I totally agree with the Leader of the AFC. Surendra should never have been given the contract to build the hospital. They have no experience in this type of service and Parliament should delve deeper into this whole operation.
The entire episode does not smell right. It is rumoured that very senior officials are involved in this and many other contracts. It is also rumoured that, at an escrow meeting, the PPP has called for an investigation.
Where are the pumps? Is this yet another scam? Is this the Government which is asking people to vote them back into power?
Guyana does not need a Specialty Hospital. Guyana needs a Community Hospital based in Georgetown, while the Georgetown Hospital can be upgraded to a Specialty Hospital. This would make economical sense. T. Profitt
