he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Akeem Goodluck, of Lot 9 Meadow Brook Garden, Bamboo Drive, Georgetown was taken before Magistrate Ann McLennan to face two counts of Robbery under Arms.
It is alleged that on September 14, last, at Barr Street, Kitty, Georgetown, he stole one Blackberry cellular phone valued $40,000, from Larisa Narine. Goodluck is also accused of stealing one Samsung cellular phone, valued $24,000, at Kitty Public Road, from Keisha Paul.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police Prosecutor, Corporal Deniro Jones did not reveal the details of the robberies but opposed bail on the prevalence of the offence. He emphasized that the defendant allegedly committed two separate offences on the same day, and as such he may not return for his trial.
Goodluck was unrepresented by legal counsel and he was remanded to prison. The case is set to be called again on September 24.
