Herdmandson Annex being used as Marriott office
The Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) building on Lamaha Street better known as the
The Herdmandson Annex which is now been used by the Marriott Hotel.
“Herdmandson Annex” is now being used by the Marriott Hotel as their “Pre-Opening Office”.
A sign has been erected on the front of the building which was once home to the Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Robert Persaud.
It is unclear whether a rent is being paid to GuySuco, by the hotel franchise. Up until November 2013, government was paying for four armed Security Guards for the Minister. That arrangement had been in place for several years ever since he was the Minister of Agriculture.
Efforts to contact the Agriculture Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, proved futile yesterday.
