Some people got timber concession and once dem get one, dem can get duty free concession. Now de concession suppose to wuk when dem bring in forestry equipment, ambulance and things like that. De law also seh that all dem things that come in should wuk in de forestry business.
But dem boys notice that this don’t happen. People does claim how dem bringing in one thing but dem does bring in other thing. Dem boys start fuh talk and nobody didn’t worry too much because some of dem who get into problems drop a small piece at de desk of dem who got control and things use to wuk out.
But sometimes it does pay if dem boys keep dem mouth shut, because all of a sudden de people who controlling de duty free thing does get like marabunta and try fuh sting all dem who talk. That is wha dem try wid de Waterfalls boss man. He talk ‘bout some Chinee logging company getting away wid all of Guyana and suddenly dem who controlling de duty free accusing he of smarting de system.
Now dem boys seh that de Waterfalls boss man don’t have no timber concession suh he can’t get duty free concession. But that is wha dem claiming. Dem seh that some man return to Guyana and apply fuh duty free concession. De man bring in de vehicle that he apply for and now dem want fuh seh that is de Waterfalls boss man who really bring in de vehicle.
Dem boys know that a man can bring in a vehicle and get duty free. De only thing he can’t do is sell de vehicle before three years. If he do that, he got to pay taxes. He can lend out de vehicle, he can park it and that ain’t no crime.
Now some thieves want fuh seh that de Waterfalls boss man rob de government. If dem know he rob de government why dem ain’t call de police. But then again, if indeed he rob dem then all he doing is wha all of dem doing. Some of dem thief so much that dem ain’t even got place fuh hide de money.
