Quincy and Cattle King were the top horses when the Budhan’s Memorial Turf Club held a grand Pre-Emancipation One day meet at the club’s track at No. 66 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Quincy won the J3 and Lower and J2 and lower races, while Cattle King victories came in the L1 and K class races.
Full results of the day’s race meet were: The feature J1 and lower event with a first prize of $160,000 over 1 mile was won by Lady Secret with Speed Vision and Red Jet coming in second and third.
Quincy rode away with the J2 and lower 1200M race from Royal Stallion and Key for the Killer to first take home the $120,000 first prize.
J3 and lower 1200M race for a winning prize of $100,000 was won by Quincy from Smarty Light and Speed Vision.
The K and lower 1200M event for the winning $100,000 first prize was taken by Cattle King from Sun Set.
Cattle King retuned to take the L1 and lower 1200M race and the $80,000 first prize from Cash D Cheque.
The L2 and lower 1000M event was taken by Sudden Star from Collie Boy and Miss Janet. The win was worth $40,000. Over 40 animals took part in the day’s event. The main sponsor on board was Banks DIH Limited. (Samuel Whyte)
