Linden miner shot dead in interior
The police are investigating the murder of miner Quacy Thompson, 31 years, of Linden, which occurred at about 20:00 hours on Tuesday at Mowasi Landing, Potaro.
Police say their investigations have revealed that Thompson was involved in an argument with two men, during which he was stabbed and shot to his body.
He died before receiving medical treatment.
No arrest has been made as yet.
Guyana’s interior is the location of a significant number of the nation’s murders equaling the number of killings in the police A Division (Georgetown and its environs).
