Teacher arrested for alleged sexual assaults on students
Mohamed Sheikh, a teacher said to be in his late 20s, residing in the Coastal Region and attached under the Ministry of Education, has been arrested in Lethem, following alleged sexual assaults on a male and female student, at his school in South Rupununi.
A group of concerned village representatives, acting on information relayed to them from the school, filed a report against Sheikh at the Lethem Police Station.
Investigations are currently being conducted by the police.
