Dear Editor,
Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) is responding to the letter published in the Kaieteur News, on Wednesday and titled ‘Is there a GWI dress code?’
GWI thanks your publication for highlighting the issues which continue to affect our customers.
The company appreciates the observations of the letter writer and wishes to advise that the GWI Dress Code Policy is in effect for all employees. In addition, all GWI employees and contracted staff can be identified by an employee badge. The observations of the letter writer have identified breaches of this policy which the company was already in the process of rectifying.
A programme of enforcement has been initiated to ensure that all employees, including staff under the purview of private contractors, are attired with a GWI Employee Badge, which can be easily identified by customers. It is recommended that customers request that GWI employees produce identification badges before allowing entry onto their premises.
In addition, as part of GWI’s Community Outreach Programme, all Customer Services Representatives have been attired in branded clothing with the GWI logo prominently displayed.
These concerns about adherence to the company’s dress code have been addressed with the utmost priority by the management of GWI. Consistent enforcement of the dress code will continue with the aim of significantly minimizing another occurrence.
We apologize to the letter writer and wish to reassure all customers of the company’s commitment to enforcing the GWI Employee Dress Code Policy.
