Man found dead in city building
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man, who was found lying face down at a Croal Street building yesterday.
The man, who has since been identified by his alias “Ram,” is a well known security guard of a popular city store.
The discovery was made at around 10:00hrs by persons dwelling on the pavements, nearby.
Initial reports suggested that the man had suffered a broken neck but this could not be immediately confirmed.
“We ain’t really know is what happen. All we know is that he does sleep in a makeshift shed at the back of Satro Building…he does tek in wid a sudden sickness steady and we only hear like he tek in last night and dis morning dem find he dead. We ain’t really know if he had family or so because all de time we know he by heself,” one pavement dweller told this newspaper.
Kaieteur News understands that the former watchman was a resident of Charlestown, where he resided until a few years ago.
“I know he used to live at Sussex Street a while back. Only the people he does wuk wid could tell you… because the police already collect the body and gone with it,” a vendor stated yesterday.
