this weekend’s National Final in the Banks DIH-sponsored Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Futsal Tournament that will determine who represents Guyana at the Regional Competition scheduled to be played on June 6-7, at the Jean Pierre Complex in Trinidad and Tobago.
The finals will be played over two days among eight teams of which four will come from Georgetown, three from Linden and one from East Coast Demerara. The teams from Georgetown are Queen Street of Tiger Bay, Stevedore Housing Scheme, Hope Street of Tiger Bay and Albouystown ‘B’.
Those from Linden are Eagles, Retrieve Unknowns and Wismar Housing Scheme, while the East Coast lone representative is recently crowned champion Melanie ‘A’. The winning team from this national competition will go up against the hosts who are defending champions, along with teams from Dominica, St Vincent & the Grenadines, St Lucia, St Kitts, Jamaica and Antigua.
The winner of that competition will receive US$5,000 and an Introductory Advanced Level Coaching Course accredited by FIFA.
