Mike’s Wellman defeated Enmore by nine runs to win the final of the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) 20-over tournament played recently at Demerara Cricket Club.
Batting first, Wellman scored 114-4 off their reduced 10 overs with Lloyd Ruplall scoring 33. Enmore replied with 105-3 in 10 overs.
Wellman got the better of Floodlight by six wickets in their semi final. Floodlight scored 181-6 off their allotted 20 overs, taking first strike. Wayne Jones fashioned 74 not out and Dharam Persaud made 37. Mike Singh claimed 2-40.
Wellman responded with 183-4 in 13 overs. Vivian Samlall stroked 54 and Gred De Franca 30; Jones took 2-26.
Enmore hammered Parika Defenders by eight wickets in their semi final match-up. Parika Defenders managed 141-6 in 20 overs, batting first. Mahendra Balgobin scored 53; Jagdesh Persaud captured 3-15. Enmore responded with 142-2 in 16 overs. Eon Abel led with 77 and Persaud contributed 31.
