An East Bank Berbice man has been charged again for a sexual offences matter. This time he is charged with rape.
Sheldon Edwards, a cane harvester of Pepper Street, Heathburn Village, East Bank Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Shurdell Isaacs-Marcus on Friday in the New Amsterdam Magistrate court charged with sexual penetration of a 13-year-old girl.
He was not required to plead to the indictable charge and was granted bail in the sum of $200,000.
The court was told that the alleged offence occurred on April 1, 2013, at Pepper Street, Heathburn.
The court was told that it was the second time that Edwards would have been accused of such an offence. On the first occasion he was granted pre trial liberty in the sum of $75,000.
His next court date is set for July 22.
