Labourer killed on road while on his way to crusade
As the carnage continues on the roadways in Guyana, another family is left fatherless. On Sunday there was another fatal accident in West Berbice.
Anand Singh, a 45-year-old labourer of Bath, West Coast Berbice and a father of three was killed on Sunday evening, as he was crossing the road on his way to attend a crusade that is being held at Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice.
His wife Tricia Budhoo was on the road and reportedly saw what happened.
According to a police report about 20:45hrs Sunday, the man was struck down by a motor vehicle PHH9161 owned by the Mahaica, Mahaicony Abary (MMA) scheme while walking along the Public Road at Bath Settlement.
The driver of the motor vehicle fled the scene but was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody.
Anand Singh was pronounced DOA at the Fort Wellington Hospital.
