Dear Editor,
For the past 10 years now, G.P.L. office at Anna Regina, in Region Two has been neglecting to correct the faulty situation of a live wire in a dangerous position running across my yard with a two flat building used for residential and business purposes at Suddie Housing Scheme.
The wire stretches for some 40 metres from a roadside post and is connected to the eastern side of a neighbour’s residence with a portion lying on my toilet shed.
Prevention is always better than cure and too late the cry shall be when something serious, since anyone mistakenly making contact will obliviously be electrocuted.
During this period, I visited the office no less than 20 times wasting travelling money and precious time for corrective measures to be taken, but it was just useless with the “pushing around” becoming unbearable.
While no proper record was kept of the exact dates, a note was made of what transpired on May 21, 2013 when in relating the purpose for being there to a female supervisor downstairs , she abused, insulted and humiliated me, before referring me to a male employee upstairs.
In so doing, the reception could not have been better and a sign of progress was evident with the official indicating to me that he would send two men to make an on the spot inspection.
This was done the very next day when the assurance was given that the situation would be rectified once and for all, but this is yet to be done.
With no further progress being made thereafter I visited the office again on August 14, 2013 and two days later, two officers came and promised that certain works had to be done to correct the situation.
Up to this day, the position remains the same with the excessively protracted delay becoming very much baffling and stressful
GP.L fully knows what needs to be done but continues to make a fool of me when better needs to be done in its own interest. R. Ramsewack
