Palms residents treated to makeovers
Several residents of the Palms Geriatric Institution located on Brickdam were yesterday

treated to a day of pampering and partial makeovers.
Manicures, Pedicures, and facials were done by members of the Freedom Life Georgetown Ministries, under the guidance of staff members of Milady’s House of Beauty.
According to Johann Moore, this is the Ministries’ first time doing makeovers of elderly people, but the plan is to have it become something annual.
She noted that the persons who carried out the makeovers were truly pleased, not only with the response from the elders, but the sudden and seemingly joy that appeared on their faces.
“It is rewarding, and we hope to be doing this every year,” Moore said.
In addition to the makeovers, a number of bathroom supplies were also donated to the institution.
