Dear Editor
I applaud the Pro-Guyana Movement. This is one of the better news that has hit our national newspapers over the last two years since the last election. We all respect folks like Dr. Tarron Kemraj whose interest has always been pro-Guyana.
I would like to have the movement ensure that other key past and very active pro-Guyana contributors such as Peter Ramsaroop, Dr. Joseph Haynes, Stanley Ming, Eric Phillips and others be part of this movement.
I would also suggest that the Opposition as a whole ensure that they recruit back to their ranks these individuals and others. Mr. Ramsaroop will be a great leader of such a movement with his leadership and Vision. I have admired this young man since he broke into the Reform in the 2001 elections and saw how President Hoyte promoted him.
It was a sad day when I saw him and Dr. Haynes endorsing the PPP instead of them leading APNU. I believe in their minds it was their own decision of shared governance but as we have seen they were not called in to help the PPP which is another sad outcome. The movement must make all attempts to ensure all these key individuals are once again part of the vision they have all presented to us over the last two decades.
Lets give them a chance to implement. This time around these individuals can give the Opposition the additional votes they need to win an election. I strongly believe that Guyana thinking, its population, its demographics has changed. The PPP has failed to see this and is in jeopardy of becoming the next opposition.
The Pro-Guyana movement foundation should be the REFORM plan. Many liberal Guyanese youth and business minded people want a change in our nation. They want to put Guyana first, they want accountability, they want better governance and they want a Government for all the people. The PPP has failed in so many categories. If the Opposition wants a credible partner they must include credible people that can make a credible difference.
