Prominent school principal, Bernard Chandra, appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault and using threatening language.
The ABC Academy Founder/Headmaster allegedly assaulted his wife Patricia Chandra on September 4, 2013, and threatened to kill her on May 6, 2013.
Chandra reportedly tossed a plate of rice on his wife’s head after they had an argument.
The court heard that the teacher had also previously threatened to kill his wife. Both matters were reported to the police; hence Chandra was charged and brought before the court.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
The matter which was prosecuted by Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunte is scheduled to be called again on September 30.
Chandra was released on $40,000 bail.

How disgraceful for a head teacher. Sir Chandra needs to attend anger management classes.
Armag
Chandra has always been a crackpot and people should stop addressing him as Sir as he has long lost that title. Abusive to his family for quite sometime and also to many of his students, he should be placed in the lockups for a very long time to contemplate and face some of his abusive friends in there. Also that school should be shut down unless the management is changed.
