West Demerara Sub Association Stag Beer Senior Football League…Young Achievers FC, Den Amstel FC, and Slingerz FC in winners’ row
Young Achievers FC defeated Beavers FC 3-0 when action in the West Demerara Sub Association Stag Beer Senior Football League continued at the Den Amstel Community Center Ground Saturday evening last.
Eagles United also played Wales FC on that day and the match ended in a draw after Alexander Clarke netted for the latter team in the 13th minute with Kerron Schmidt equalizing in the 58th. The Young Achievers’ victory came from successes off the boots of Jamal Thomas (11th) and a Jamal McPherson’s double in the 52nd and 69th minutes.
Fans also witnessed two other exciting matches on Sunday; in the first Den Amstel benefitted from home advantage and disposed of Seawall FC 3-1 after Andre Hector opened the winning team’s account in the 20th minute. Travis Hilliman and Orette Stephenson emulated the feat in the 48th and 72nd minutes, respectively. Clement Brown narrowed the lead in the 75th minute for the Seawall FC in a lost cause.
In the second match played on Sunday, Slingerz defeated Bagotsville/Nimes 4-0 with Quason McAulay (16th, 68th) and Tichard Joseph (39th, 86th) making the difference. Activities continue over the coming weekend with four other matches.
